  • I watched the entire interview -- it was very sad and disturbing. My thoughts are:

  • I think that calculation of $60,000 each assumes that the money will be divided equally among the 200 staff members - my guess is that's not going to happen. Those who are the highest paid will receive a bigger cut and those at the bottom of the heap will be lucky to get anything.

  • Penny, I wouldn't worry so much about educating anyone else out there until you finish educating yourself. I don't know why you have such contempt for women and for older ones at that. You'll get there soon enough.

  • When I used to watch the Johnny Carson show years ago, I took note that whenever Johhn took a night off, it was Jay Leno who filled in for him (most of the time).

  • I don't believe that Jay Leno wanted to leave the Tonight Show nor did he want to retire. It was the deal the network made with Conan O'brien in 2004 that he would be handed the Tonight Show in five years.

  • He didn't want to. It was a deal the network made in 2004 to sign Conan. They promised him The Tonight Show in 5 years. Then, not wanting to lose Jay altogether, they tried the 10 pm slot. Smart move for Jay, but not so smart for the network or Conan.

  • To those of you who think Jay should continue to just "take it on the chin" (pardon the pun) and roll over and give his job to Conan just because he wants it -- get real! How many of you would just turn your job over to a colleage? Of course you wouldn't.
